On May 8th 2023 Analog Devices Limerick ran a day long STEM-inspired challenge. Over 120 primary school children went to battle with their self-designed sumo wrestling robots. We were thrilled to come in 2nd place after our first time entering the competition.

Teams of children between ages 10-12 from 32 schools across Limerick took part in the workshop and competition where they designed, built and programmed their robots before pitting their creation against others in knock-out rounds.

The robotics competition was established by ADI to promote Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics amongst primary students by giving them a flavour of engineering through the opportunity to design, build, test and program their own robots. The children were encouraged to work as part of a team, express creativity, problem solve and have fun while also learning key STEM principles.
