5th & 6th class enjoyed making lighthouses. They had fun painting and designing a lighthouse using recyclable material and then wiring up the lighthouse was probably the trickiest part! We made switches for our lighthouses and cleverly hid them inside of the tube to make a neater finish. The lighthouses were displayed on or renewable energy station during our STEM fair as we did a few with a simple circuit and then two that were using solar energy which needed a strong lamp to really show it light up. We designed a clever little village beside the sea and decided to add the lighthouses in by the “beach”. We even featured a Kerry coloured themed lighthouse for Ms O Shea!
